KATHLEEN CONTRERAS

Dr. Kathleen Contreras is a graduate of UCLA with a PhD. in teacher education.  She was a bilingual teacher in the elementary grades and a university professor preparing bilingual teachers for 25 years.  She is currently a professor at CSU Channel Islands, a children’s author, and educational consultant.

Kathleen loves her family, yoga, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mexican food (especially tacos!), New Mexico, and travel adventures. Her latest book is titled Braids/Trencitas, published by Lectorum.
