SUDESHNA SENGUPTA

Sudeshna Sengupta received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in fine arts from Visva Bharati in Shantiniketan, a university founded by the 1913 Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. She has exhibited internationally in Europe, India and the US and has received several important awards and fellowships since moving to the US in 1989.
Her work is in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, India; Associación Musée d'Art Contemporain, France; and in several public and corporate collections in the US. She taught art and design at college level for over sixteen years in New Delhi, Seattle, California and at New Mexico State University in Alamogordo where she established its first intaglio printmaking studio in 1995.
Currently, besides pursuing studio art and graphic design in traditional as well as digital mediums -- she conducts workshops, presentations and interdisciplinary art events often with a focus on multicultural arts that emphasize human, cultural and environmental connectedness through creativity.
